Potter's Place: A Mexican Restaurant Dream Come True

The name Potter's Place may not scream tacos, burritos and queso fundito, but don't let the name fool you; it's your Mexican restaurant dream come true.

We started out with the house margaritas for $5.50 each, although there were several other options for $8.50 and up. We surely wouldn't have turned down a margarita special if there'd been one.

We moved on to appetizers and went for the Queso Fundito. The menu says it's a dip with chow cheese, salsa and onion, but I think dip was the wrong word, considering we had to use our forks on it. Potter's has considered this though, because the dip came with several flour tortillas. We promptly made our cheese dip tacos. Nachos, taquitos and quesadillas are also tempting appetizers.

For entrees, you'll find your typical Mexican fare including burritos, fajitas, tacos, tostadas and enchiladas. You can make any combination you want and it's your choice of chicken, beef, steak or pork. You could also try Potter's Place Signature Dish, the Potter's Christmas Tree, which is your choice of burrito fillings topped with guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes and extra cheese.

A couple of my friends swear Potter's enchiladas are the best in town. The chicken taco is the best I've found in Naperville - it came with two tortillas, and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream, I could barely finish it.

I didn't like paying an extra dollar for the sour cream, though, and guacamole would have been another buck. I think there should've been at least one budget-friendly, enticing item on the menu, whether it be cheap drinks, cheap cheese dip or unlimited toppings. But don't let that stop you, because the food is filling and delicious.
